From the Modern Performance catalog: INTERCOOLER SYSTEM The ultimate intercooler system available for the Merkur XR4Ti. Retains factory a/c, factory radiator, and no cutting of any body parts at all or grill replacement. The kit features a massive 550 cfm I/C which delivers up to 90% efficiency at less than a half of a pound pressure drop. Smooth bent, specifically sized, insulated tubing (2.5" inlet and 2.5" outlet and approximately 5 ft. in total length) delivers incredible flow without any throttle lag, unlike most others. Supplied with a 1" BOSCH by-pass valve that maintains a smooth as glass idle, instant boost response from idle and in between shifts. The large flow capacity of this by-pass valve eliminates the "trailer jerking" effect, which is common with most after-market intercooler kits. This valve also negates the deadly effects of compressor surging and stalling. A flexible air-dam provides clean, undisturbed flow of air through the intercooler w/o compromising any ground clearance at all (even on lowered cars) and w/o restricting air flow by sitting in front of the radiator or behind the A/C condenser.
